The Prince's Lakes Park Board has gathered with multiple sources of support to create a Community Garden for our area. Reservable garden plots or raised beds are available to rent from April 1st to October 31st for $30. Join us today and enjoy gardening alongside your community!

What is the Community Garden?

The Prince’s Lakes Community Garden is a shared space where residents can rent a garden plot or raised beds to grow vegetables, herbs, flowers, and plants while fostering community connections, sustainability, and healthy living.

Where is it located?

The garden is located at: 14 E. Lakeview Drive, Prince’s Lakes, IN 46164, just behind the Town Hall.

Who can participate?

Any resident of Prince’s Lakes or nearby surrounding areas is welcome to rent a plot. Individuals, families, and local groups are encouraged to join.

How much does it cost?

· Standard Plot: $30.00 per season

· Raised Bed (if applicable): $30.00 per bed

· Scholarships/waivers may be available for those in need.

When is the garden open?

· Season Start: [e.g., April 1st]

· Season End: [e.g., October 31st] Plots must be cleared by the end date unless winter gardening is approved.

How do I sign up?

1. Complete the registration form available on this page under documents, or you may sign up at the Town Hall office.

2. Submit payment and sign the gardener’s agreement.

3. Receive your plot assignment and access details.

What do I need to bring?

Gardeners should provide:

· Seeds/plants

· Tools (label tools if sharing)

· Organic practices are encouraged or required (check garden rules)

Are tools or water provided?

· Water: Yes- there are spigots.

· Bring your own tools.

Are there garden rules?

Yes! Key rules include:

· Keep your plot tidy and weeded

· No pesticides unless approved

· Be respectful of others’ plots

· Harvest only from your assigned space

· Attend at least one garden meeting or cleanup event per season

Is it family/kid-friendly?

Absolutely! We encourage families to garden together. It’s a great way to teach kids about nature, food, and community responsibility.

Are there volunteer opportunities?

Yes! Help with:

· Garden maintenance

· Organizing events or workshops

· Donating produce to local food banks and the Trustee’s office. Contact the Park Board to learn how to get involved.
